The objectives and outcomes of this course are as follows: 

• To become aware of the natural, social, and commercial implications of having food on our plates and understanding the social problems that arise from food consumption. We must recognize and learn the production process of what we consume.
• To produce art ethically and be aware of our relationship with Nature, it is necessary to have governance of what we produce and consume.
• To create ‘Community’, conversations, and dialogues are required allowing us to reach agreements and build forms of organization that seek the common good.
• To carry out an artistic project, it will be necessary for our production processes to be integrated coherently and ethically with the functioning of Nature and our community’s social needs.
• Reconsider artistic creation as a method of mutual care.
• To developed a decolonial ethnographic cartography. A conscious capture of information about what is done, said and about the environment. Individual and Collective Final Project.

Course Philosophy 

The ethos of this course is to establish a non-extractivist relationship with nature. In order to accomplish this it is necessary to:

• Be open to recognize, understand, and learn forms of knowledge production that resist processes which focus on using the Earth as a ‘natural resource’.
• Recognize that in order to face the serious environmental problems we are experiencing at present we must create communities that work in an organized manner for the well-being of human and non-human individuals.
• To start an artistic project, it is relevant to consider whether it is socially necessary, ecologically valid, and economically viable.
