This work is built through others. The portraits in the wall, come from women I have known, and from those shared with me in the space. They don’t belong to an official archive, but they insist on being present.
I construct a textile cartography with them. Not to map territory, but to hold connections that are usually left out of history—forms of knowledge, care, and resistance that circulate outside institutional structures.
Pattern is central. I use repetition to point to a condition: how certain lives, gestures, and knowledges are made invisible through the very systems that claim to organize them.
In the performance, I cover my body with these fabrics. I ask others to share a story about a woman in their life. I respond with one from this archive. What emerges is not documentation, but a temporary structure held through speaking and listening.
The work exposes the limits of the archive. It remains open, contingent, and incomplete.
